Hi, I'm from Chicago and I'm looking for a charger to restore. Might be rusty, what is important for me is engine and trans. I want to have maby 2 years project. Cheap price is important for me.
Do you know anything in my area? Thanks

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I don't think there is such a thing as a cheap Charger anymore.

Have at least $10,000 in hand before you begin your search. :Twocents:

Well I know it won't be easy, I saw on Craigslist even for 4-5k like I said, I want it to be long project...
I can weld, I can work on engines, it's my hobby. Got in garage 1986 w123 Mercedes ambulance I bought for 300$, I did all work by myself over 3 years

It's a nice body as Well! And it will be my first American car.

Your priorities are totally backwards in your search.

Finding/rebuilding/upgrading the engine and trans are very easy work that any half competent mechanic can do easily.

Doing rust repair and panel replacement the right way, is very labor and cost intensive.

Buy the most rust free car you can afford.

I can weld and do the bodywork quite well.
thing is I'm going back to europe in 2 moths, and i have quite not much time to make car "driveable" to put it into container and on trailer back home.

The reason we are cautioning you about rusty Chargers is not because we doubt your skills.  It's because the rust can be so extensive.  The problem goes beyond metalworking skills and becomes simply a terrible financial choice.

A "rust-bucket Charger" in 2017 isn't just ugly, it may be breaking in half from rust.  You would start the job by spending $4000 on a pile of new replacement panels.  Guys doing cars like this will often need to weld temporary bracing into the body, just to prevent the shell from sagging out of shape while large portions of sheetmetal are cut away.  You won't be looking over the car to identify what needs to be cut off, you will be identifying what doesn't need to be cut off.

This is not unusual for rusty Chargers these days:

Thank you for respond. The reason why I'm asking for a rusty one is simple. My budget right now is kind of firm and I cannot extend it right now. In almost 2 months I'll be back in Europe, so I need to buy, engine, transmission and body parts to ship it back.
I'm well aware of condition I'll be dealing with. I'm a amateur with ambitions, I did deal with no floor and nothing balów door in car that doesn't have a frame. So thanks very much for concerns but I'm good:)
Ps. I wish my car looked like this when I bought it!
