68 Door Hinge Springs

I was wondering if anyone knows if the door hinge springs on a 69 Charger can be replaced without replacing the entire hinge.  The hinges themselves are quite solid and the doors don't sag at all, fit is perfect, but the door not staying open by itself can make things awkward sometimes.  At least in photos the springs look like they can slip right in but, like so many other things, that seems just a little too easy.

I should have also asked if the hinge needs to be out of the car to do it.  (I have a service manual ordered but figured I"d ask.

You can replace the spring with the hinge on the car.
