Which one do you think is best and why?

Please no flames about why not a 440 or such. I'm really sold on one of the new hemi's, I just don't have enough info to choose. And if you've done one, let me know if there's a thread on the build. Thanks  :icon_smile_cool:

Mopar makes kits to put those engines in your car.
I would guess that the 6.4 would be the fastest.(6.4 car engine not the TRUCK 6.4)
But what are you looking to do/get out of your car?All out power, handling, best MPG? Best 1/4 time?

Thanks for the info Brad, I'll google to find the mopar kits.

I'm looking for something that'll zing people at shows. I guess I'm a show off  :icon_smile_big: and I want to show a car that's going to get the most admiration. It won't be raced, though I've already installed an Alterkation front and Streetlynx rear and 4 wheel discs. I'm serious about getting the biggest  :drool5: factor!

Then for me anyway look at the 426 Hemi stroker engine that Indy cylinder heads make. The 426 stroker is based on a 6.1 block, but has the coils hid under the intake, so it looks like an old 66-71 Hemi. You can even get the 426 Hemi stroker engine with a 6pack,using the Mod Man intake. You can do it(6 Pack) with carbs, or EFI. As far as  :drool5:    That kind of dose it for me!

Hot Rod Garage put a 6.4 into a '72 'Cuda:

There are 'turn-key' engine and trans combos pulled from wrecks available on ebay.  Supposedly everything included from electronics to accessories, etc.

If you don't find what you're looking for here, there are a number of threads on another mopar site that address what you're after:

Thanks FNut. I checked out both links. I've done 2 LS1 swaps into 2nd Gen Trans Ams. The worst part is the wiring, so that kit from NextGen sounds great. I think I'm moving towards a 6.4 + Nag1 trans because its a proven combo, and readily available in low mileage pullouts. Does the 6.4 have overheating issues?

Is it mandatory, nice-to-have or can I forego the VVT on a 6.4?

Do I have to use a Diablo tuner or is there an HP Tuners available for it (I have an HP Tuners setup)?

I don't have any first-hand experience with HP Tuners, but looks like they support the 392:

As for the rest, I don't have a clue.  ;)

6.4, TKO 600.  If you'd like any more info not captured in the thread let me know.  You are embarking on a very cool journey.  Cheers and good luck.

Ramsy, your build thread is what I wanted, and imitation is the best form of flattery

5.7  They all look the same and most onlookers won't know the difference. The 5.7 will also be the easiest to find and adapt.
