 I saw on Mecum that Don Garlits exact same one went for $150k at auction. PPl said it went so high because it was Don's.  I remember Julius Steuer's White one he owned and restored he sold for $79k mabe 10 years ago then I saw it for sale for $150k a year or two later.  Just wondering how many hemi 4 speed 500's are still out there?   love those chargers!

I remember seeing Juliuses Hemi 500 in 2004 (in a showroom), in the SanFernando-Valley!
Wow that was a cheap car indeed @ 75K!!!
It doubled in price by 2006...

Now they are really worth 150K, maybe more?
(but not with ali 5 spokes and kermie batteries)

I would have bought it myself, but he wanted a quick sale and I was in between jobs, you know how it goes lol...
It was the red interior and column shift that put me off.

yeah I remember those san fernando valley days well.  When u coulda got a 71 hemicuda for 17k  hemi roadrunner for 5-7k etc.

Kinda surprised this C500 didn't go higher.  How do you beat the rarity of a 500, Red, 4 speed, radio delete.  Man that's way cool.  Is there something I was missing about this car.  I'm assuming it was the born-with drivetrain, no significant indicators of past damage etc...
Who cars about the ugly battery.  That's a 20 minute deal to change.

I don't believe it was a rotisserie restoration either. Was it? I didn't see any underside pictures and the heater box in a interior shot was showing some wear. I have my 4speed 500 posted on this site with original 440 motor and 4 speed for 79K.

Another example of a high price paid that energizes every owner of a car -that is near being like this one- to bounce in their seat.

Reality check is that one sale tells a story only about someone that just had to have a particular car.  And they came up against another like them at the same time in an auction.

These sales are fun to watch but they are just a blip on the screen.  

As I recall a Hemi cuda sold for 4 million dollars back in the ninties?  So what do they generally sell for after that happened?

BTW    for the seller.  And a   for the buyer.  I'm sure both are happy.

Non-original motor helps explain the price a little better to m.
Barrett-Jackson has a Hemi C500 also that is T5 or T7 (hard to tell in the pictures)  13,000 mile car, automatic from Mr. Norm's Dodge.  Should be an interesting comparison.

I would like to pay $50,000 for it, but that would make my 440 4-speed C500 worth a mere $25,000!
Its a real shame that all C500's weren't hemi 4-speed option only?

It never ceases to amaze me that a $750 upgrade in 1969 is now worth $50,000 in a C500.
Maybe $500,000 in a Daytona lol...

With the price of FM radio's these days I may have to go DELETE too?

Those wheels are just AWFUL and the battery should be in my GTX!
