Looks like a nice one.    They have their following.    People rip on the Shelby era Mopars these days.   But at the time, they were the pocket rockets.    No one could have predicted we'd have 400 HP cars at the lower end of the scale like we have today.  Even a Grand Caravan makes just shy of 300 now.    Understanding the context of the time is everything.

My little bro has one. All gutted out race car....It's pretty impressive.

I had one of those 20 years ago. It was a fun little car, but if you drove at 75 or above, you were in boost and the fuel mileage would go into the teens which is horrible for a 4-banger.

My oldest son has a '87 that has been to hell and back. Slowly rebuilding it though. Now has a much bigger aftermarket turbo. Twice as big if I remember right. Arizona car, so never any rust. Needs paint, tranny and  some suspension work yet. The engine has been rebuilt. He recently found the factory correct wheels for it. Needs tires now so he can put them on.

That car has a big zit on the hood that needs to be popped.

That is one seriously ugly car.....the shape has not stood the test of time well like many US cars from the mid seventies to the early nineties IMO. We (the UK) has a few ugly beasts around that time ....but I think the US had cornered most of the market in ugly cars. LOL!

I don't think they are ugly cars...although I may be a bit biased. :icon_smile_big:  My little '93 non-Shelby has been the best damn car I've ever had, hands down.

I remember when the various Dodge Shelby models were new, those little buggers were holy terrors on the street! If I had the spare funds at the moment, I'd love to bring home the one in the link. :2thumbs:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Was it the Pacer or the Gremlin that had the passenger door longer than the drivers door for rear seat access?    :eek2:
Mopar forever!

You would not still own it, if it had a 3.0 auto.  You were lucky to get 70K out of them. Drive train and paint.

Probably very true. I do recall seeing quite a bit of them in boneyards with that drivetrain combo. Mine has the 2.5 & 5-speed. Although the pic I posted above is about 4 years old...today, there's a lot more paint missing. Sadly, it's typical for most vehicles from the era.
