Hey all-
Just wondering if there are any differences between the 1971 and 1972 front fenders. Besides the marker light of course.

Thanks!

Thanks Nacho. What's the easiest way to tell a '72 fender apart from '73/'74?

getting side by side ?... 72 wheel opening height is around an inch and a half lower on top area than 73/74. Is hard to notice but on 72s is around same height than sidemarker, while a 73/74 wheel opening height is higher than the sidemarker position. Once again is hard to note.

Also the panel section what attachs to the radiator core support is bigger on 73/74 than the 71/72. If you try to fit a 72 fender to a 73/74, this area won't meet the radiator core support and will leave a gap there. Front wheels will be visible throught that gap.

I don't have pics of what I'm talking about though. We discused and show pics on 3rd gen charger board LOOOOOONG time ago.

if I find pics, will post

ok found couples of pics:

This is a 73/74 fender... seller says is 72 but is wrong. The "stepped" molding indicates is a 73/74. 71/72 molding is smooth.

note the height of the wheel opening againts the sidemarker

note the rear of headlights area... squared:

71 fender... note the height of wheel opening against sidemarker position. Even is true the sidemarker is way diff you can figure out the height difference. 72 and laters sidemarker fills bottom half of that 71 sidemarker opening

this is a 71 fender. Note the angled shape sheetmetal on back of headlights area, what meets with radiator core support where 73/74 is vertical
