So the AMD vs other brands discussion  has been  :horse: :horse:.  But I'm asking a more specific question as I'm being cheap and trying to stretch my cash.   I have AMD front floor pans on the way.  Anyone have experience using Goodmark rear foot wells with any luck?  I can save $100 by using these, but I'm nervous because of all the opposing opinions.  Yes its just $100 but these situations compound over the build.

Thanks,

Only thing I can say is pull up the images side by side and take a look. I know how you feel but IMHO, you get what you pay for. Quality and fit trumps fabrication and modification to fit and extra time every time for me.  Yes, it is a "hidden" piece but I believe the fit outweighed the cost in the end.

I just looked at the Goodmark site and the AMD site.  Not sure but I would guess that Goodmark is selling AMD stuff, pictures on the two sites look identical.  Maybe you should call and ask.

Use the cheaper source.

A couple years ago AMD's magazine ads were showing their floorpan was better than a similar looking competitor panel (presumably Goodmark).  AMD called their panel 20% heavier (better steel alloy) and had better details like brackets & holes.

I haven't compared the two side-by-side.  But my past experiences certainly make me favor AMD's stuff over Goodmark's.

I think I have to somewhat agree with Mitch on this one. I have a mixture of both goodmark and AMD with most of the floors and rear frame rails being goodmark and the outer sheet metal AMD. When I bought my rear rails I got them through LKQ Keystone and ordered the ones from their site. When I got them
I ended up with one AMD and one goodmark, I can tell you this, if you peel the sticker off you'll never tell the difference. My floors seem to be just as thick as original. I haven't installed my floors yet but I did put a full front floor and firewall from goodmark in my 73 charger 2 years ago at they fit flawless.

The thickness is not the issue.  It's the metal alloy quality.  Some repro panels are OEM-thick but they still feel lightweight & flimsy.

But I'm not trying to challenge your main point.

Thank you for everyone's input.  I'm still thinking it over.  :scratchchin:  The front floor pans from AMD arrived and look great!  I haven't ordered the rears yet.

The amd front floor and rear footwells were probably the second best fitting AMD pieces behind their 1 piece trunk floor.
