I'll need to move my newly painted Charger from the San Diego area to the Red Bluff/Redding area in early to mid September. The search results I got were pretty dated, so does anyone have any recommendations based on recent experience? Or just as important, if there are any companies I should stay away from, fire away.

Thanks.

I had good luck with uship.  If your timeline is flexible you can get a pretty good deal.  I paid just over $600 to have mine moved in an enclosed trailer from Washington to New Mexico.

I have used Plycar to move my Chargers. Enclosed, no bs service. And no games.  I've moved cars for two decades, and these are the only ones who've consistently done what they claimed...

They were EXTREMELY fair in pricing, and one didn't even start - they moved for me at no addl. cost.
