Currently Regular here is $2.99 and diesel about the same. I do think its price gouging but no boycotting will change that in an open market place.

To make things worse the Chinese government subsidises gas!! I just heard this on NPR this morning. Now the Chinese economy is growing at roughly 10% a year. DO THE MATH!!!!! :flame:

You might be right, but it's so hard to know.  It's not always easy to read what's really going on with the China.  That country is in a pretty unique situation.   Trying to apply the "normal" financial rules & figures to them can be misleading sometimes.

Lately they've been accused of artifically de-valuing their currency (in relation to the U.S. dollar and the rest of the world market) in order to hold their labor prices down so much cheaper than America's.

And another rumor has it that the U.S. is trying to put the brakes on China's oil supply, to counteract China's growing demand for oil and therefore hold down their economic growth . . . an issue which (all partisan politics aside) might be playing into the U.S.'s recent desire to control Iraq's reserves . . .

Man, the world is so complicated!  And angry political threads on this board will get locked anyway.

It doesn't work that way Silver.  The gas will be bad by the end of the summer unless you buy av gas.  But that stuff is $4 a gallon.

I looked at fuel prices on the way home tonight.  I beleive that if I put regular in my 69 charger (10mpg) it will be about the same or a little  cheaper for me to drive it daily than it is for me to drive my diesel pickup (16mpg).  Diesel is $2.99 here.  Kinda funny how the lowest grade of fuel you can get, other than kerosene, is also almost the most expensive.   :rotz:
When I was just a very young lad I looked up and told my dad, a bareback rider's what I wanna be.  I want the whole world to know about me.  In the rodeo arena I'll make my stand.  I wanna be a rodeo man.  I'll come flyin' from the chute with my spurs up high, chaps and boots reachin' for the sky.  Spurin' wild with my head throwed back, you'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.  You'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.

I think American pumps of Diesel cost more than they need to because it's part of the taxation on the trucking industry.

If massive numbers of diesel passenger cars started appearing on the roads in this country, they'd have to restructure the setup and the price of diesel would probably come down some.
