Nice looking engine bay.  Did you powder coat your hood hinges & springs?

Congrats!

I was interviewed about mine last summer by some newspaper. The reporter came to cover a car show, but ended up doing an on the spot interview with me about my GL. I am sure he did it due to the hoopla that was in the papers about the Dukes and the Chargers at the time. I don't live in the area that paper was printed, so I never obtained a copy of that article.

The hood hindges I got off ebay and they are real nice. I have recently seen chrome ones on there that look real nice too!!

Nice car. I've seen those hinges too and I'm thinkng about getting a pair. I wonder if it would look out of place unless the engine is dressed up too, like yours.

Arkgl01

they did a little but not bad, I have had them on before I added the pollished stuff and I thought they fit in well. They offer a black spring and I wish I would have gotten those to help break it up some.

Hey Mark, congrats on the article and scoring an origional car. Looks great. The attention these cars get is awesome, isn't it? The guys from Top Gear interviewed me at The Nats in 04. Sadly, it never made it to print, but it was a hoot to hear the English accents. They even asked the girl I was with if the doors opened or if she had to "Dayzee Dewk It" (English accent) through the window. Anyway, good luck and see ya at Dukes Fest.   Al

Your car sir is what I would call a "true" General Lee duplicate!   If I were to walk up to your car to see just how close the detail is on your car compared to the original TV series car.  I would say that you were spot on "In My Opinion!"

(I grew up watching the "Dukes")

And as far as under the hood goes.....well they never really showed many underhood shots of the TV series car.  But if I were to imagine what it looked like......         you got it!  IMO

It really IS  a TV-series car, man!

Shorty after "Dukes" ended, five GLs got repainted black & banged up for an obscure TV movie.  Two cars survived and then they sat out in the Cali desert for years.

The other car's getting restored now.

Congratulations. The car looks great and I also love the barn. :icon_smile_big:

well no wonder it looks so good..............and as far as that TV show you were talking about goes, that was the gladiator!  the charger plays the bad guy (so to speak) while the good guy is this dude with a wrecker with all kinds of neat stuff on it to help capture the bad guys.....a vigil-anti if you will.
