Hey all, looking to swap my 73 charger from a slap stik auto to a 4 speed.. Ive found a unit on craigs but its listed as being for an A body unit. is there much differances from an a body unit to a b body unit? Longer tail shafts maybe?

The A-body A833 has a shorter tailshaft than you want. Also, when you look for a long tailshaft A833, you will want the one with the dual pattern mounts for the shifter (1970 and later).

The 1971-1974 B-body transmission will be a long tail shaft version with the front and rear mounting bosses.

If you have a banch seat you will use a specific shifter with a plate mounted to the forward mounting holes...

If you have a console and buckets you will use the rear shifter mounts

That is definitely an "A" body transmission - not what you need
