Prince gone at 57.....news reports says he died of complication from Flu....man something that seems so treatable...

RIP

histoy

His private plane made an emergency landing here in the Quad Cities last week, because he was fighting dehydration from the flu.  He was treated at a local hospital before being released to fly home.  When I read that he had died, I thought maybe it was due to complications from the flu he had at the time.  RIP Prince.

R.I.P. indeed.  I certainly didn't love all of his stuff, but he had more talent, creativity and vision than most artists in recent history.

We do seem to see/hear about a lot of people dying lately. :shruggy:

But some apparently just keep going and going.  Doris Day (for example) is still living.

BTW we don't need to see current pictures. :slap:  Memories have value. Let's not spoil them.

Okay, that's the strangest thing I've read all week. So far, it's only Thursday. ;D

BTW, the wrestling chick Chyna died today too.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Call me cynical, but I think death from the flu may be just a convenient excuse.

I think I'm gonna wait for the autopsy results on this one.

Looks like I'm too late to get my vinyl Purple Rain album autographed. ;D

Me to I'm gonna wait for the autopsy results on this one,It probably was pain killers that did kill him but i don't think its because he abused them with intent ..i believe he was in a lot of pain. These doctors have got to stop prescribing these  type of dangerous drugs.

If these celebs got the cash they can get the stash.  Many of the doctors to the rich and famouse are just legalized drug dealers. :Twocents:

Dropping dead will turn out to be a great career move, financially, as his estate will be worth hundreds of millions more over time than when he was alive. However, the guy was a complete dumbass for not having a will. From what I understand, he has one sister and a slew of half brothers/sisters and each one of them.....and their kids, friends, cousins, friends etc could all file claims against his estate. And you know that they all will.    ::)

It's not smart for him to be that rich without a will.  But I understand how it can end up happening.

He didn't get $300m awarded to him in one epic moment.  It crept up over time while he was living a busy life.  He must have already been very rich by normal standards in his 20s.  When he died he was only in his 50s and he seemed to be in good shape in most ways.

Dose it mater he is dead has no kids or a wife it would end up going to them anyway. :shruggy:

It has been said he has spent most of the past 10 years in pain due to bad hips. He has been spotted walking with a cane on occasion.

Doctors suggested a double hip replacement, but because of his Jehovah's Witness beliefs, he refused unless they could perform a bloodless surgery.

He is already cremated. We will get some info down the road, but it will be calculated.

That could very well be, but it's obvious that he had a major league pill problem. As time goes on, I think you will find that he's been surrounded by a bunch of enablers much like Elvis and Michael Jackson. One thing's for sure though; his doctor(s) are in deep ka-ka-doo-doo.

Can't be cut on but it's OK to ingest drugs to kill the pain? Otay.  ::)
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

JW's are concerned about the blood transfusion, not being cut. Still silly, but just wanted to clarify their stance.

Mike DC

I don't see Elvis or Jacko spending years in pain rather than get a common surgery.  I don't see either of those two learning to play dozens of instruments.  Or amassing $300m without blowing it on stupid stuff.

Prince was a different flavor of strange even if he did end up with a similar death.

I have a few friends that are JW. ---It is true that they have backed themselves into a corner about transfusions. In some cases it is a part of their untimely demise.

It however is a part of the nature of religions to believe a particular way. (the way it has always been told). Some religions hurry up this --living-- process with a bomb on their chest in order to help themselves and those around them move on. :eek2:
