The hood is one of those stories where I can say, "I am glad it wasn't my fault".    Because I would have been in a heap of trouble.

My dad decided to take the car for a ride.     This would be roughly 25 years ago.    The car did not have a hood safety latch at the time.   It must have been removed when the car was custom painted in the early days.     Anyway,  dad forgot to put the hood pins in.  He hit the freeway on ramp, got up to speed and the hood came up and folded back.      The original hood was beyond repair and it was replaced with a 70 Charger hood.

That story is way too familiar - I did the exact same thing with my Superbird.  No latch tray, forgot the hood pins and.....  About 25mph it folded over.  I kept the hood and many years later found a metal wizard who fixed it.  All it took was about $2500 lol.
