using felpro brass/copper shim to compensate block deck height

As many of you know, I'm allways dealing with incompetents on machine shops. Dunno if I have asked this before.

in some time I'll be dealing with square the block deck because last Piece of $**T job got me the pistons 7 and 8 leaving the bore by maybe .005" or so, and pistons in front, 1 and 2, still into the hole by maybe .015". UNLESS there is some major fail into the crank, this problem is into the deck. 4 center pistons are practically squared to the deck.

I'm thinking when trying to square the block, all pistons will be out of the bore into the .010" to .015" range. I got a Felpro Brass shim set to compensate this, WHICH supposelly is used to get lowered the compression when working on heads. This brass shim is 0.020" and only can be used with composite gaskets ( not metallic, dunno why ). I guess, will give me around 0.050" for quench ( 452 heads ) with KB215 pistons... not too bad

so even is "designed to be used" onto the head surface, I guess will be the same to be used onto the block deck surface... right ?

they are not available down here, and at this moment too expensive to me. I got these through rockauto, around 2 years ago in just $6 each.

these are the copper shims:

wow... .020" out of the hole ? that's a good new to me. I'm not that bad ( by the moments ), unless the next machine shop, ruin it more!!!
