Why Autometer doesn't offer Kilo speedos and Celsious temp gauges ?

A friend ( well, my ex, which I hope will be back soon ) wish to get a Classic Beetle... well maybe from 90s ( Mexican made, Fuel Injection and A/C ), but want to add some vintage look on it... some paint job, and upholstery touch and maybe a custom cluster with goldies or antique beige gauges over a wood panel... but speedos are all Miles. Temp is not a deal because they are not water cooled of course, but stiiiill, could be used to get oil temp? LOL.

Otherwise... what other gauges brand is an option with this oldie look ?

IMHO looks better with the classic mech odo

I guess they can be ordered though?

Yeah, who says we are converting to the Metric system? That was something the Government talked about in the 70s or 80s then they abandoned the idea.

Kinda depends on who the "we" are....doctors, scientists, engineers et al pretty much all speak metric but the unwashed masses (myself included) are fighting it.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Oh yes, but I'm talking about aftermarket speedo ( such as autometer ) to build a custom dash. Beetles down here are all in Kilo!

Hey, Its at each country own about what measurings system is using, and I can understand you still use imperial units ( all your highways are set by mile marks for example, including exists )... but I'm talking about a brand like autometer which usually provides parts for every country in the world, which 90% of it reads in metric!

Dolphin. They have metric gauges, not sure on classic looking metric though.

I'll second what John said - Celsius for temp is common in bulk food processing.  Disappointingly,  I see more foreign made industrial equipment as time passes.  Heck, just look at new cars vs classicsn

Sorry for polluting your thread Nacho.   Our conversion to the metric system, "within a decade" was both President Ford and Carter's "moon shot".   The real humor in it is that while it was launched with great fanfare, it disappeared more quietly than Richie Cunningham's older brother.

The title of your thread made me (and Kern Dog) remember that "Metric Chuck" disappeared with no explanation.

checking... they have good vintage gauges sets on beige finish similar to autometer, and cheaper... still searching for speedo on hat style. Just made a quick search

talking about Dolphin gauges... already replied me an email I sent... just white face gauges in metric and no custom job. Shame

Just chatted with autometer crew... sure they offer metric speedos in tan finish, but ELECTRONIC, which if not speedo sensor on car ( like the bug ) will require a GPS control... so expensive sensor added to an already expensive gauge.

Chatting with him, noticed he wasn't paying attention on my requierement, because I expreselly specified MECH SPEEDO, and he replied me with the same link I posted earlier LOL

Beside that, for a bug an electronic ODO looks out of the place
