Fan radiator clearance?

How close is your clutch fan to your radiator??  Thanks

I'd say about 10 feet; the fan is in the garage and the radiator is in the shed!   

When installed however...about 1 to 1-1/2" I think.

Well I'm just putting my car back together with a bunch of parts that came with it.
Radiator isn't correct but it fits for now...
The fan may be from a small block and I'm guessing it is longer?

Ah I couldn't say.  Maybe the combo of wrong rad and fan isn't going to work.  1/8" is way too close for comfort.

Agree. if you happen to get out to your shed could your tell me how deep your fan is?

if you are using a fan clutch, you might need the Jag clutch # 2765 hayden

Sure thing, I'llghet you the measurements tomorrow.  It's a stock style fan but I ordered it from a local parts store.  It's a 6 blade I believe.   I'm also running the Hayden clutch.

this is with the 2765 clutch & a 4 row champion radiator, it is the width of my finger clearance , my set up is all different now.

On mine the clearance is 1/4". So issues.

Hey CDR did you need to use some sort of bushing to install that Hayden piece or is it a direct fit?

Sorry it took me a while.  Fan is 2-1/8" deep.  Fan + clutch is 2-3/4" deep.

If its an auto check the gearbox mount, my nut fell out and the whole engine and gearbox would move forward under torque.

There was nothing loose or broken on mine. When it twisted up, the fan ate the radiator.

Thanks! I found a shorter clutch assembly part number 215046  made by Hayden (Imperial) for $40 and it bolted right in.
