Hello all!

when I reverse it takes some gas to move the car.
Is this normal for a 727?
Other cars from the era almost slam into reverse.

thanks!

Just out of curiosity, is this every time you use reverse or just after the car has been sitting for a while?

Do you mean that you need to apply more revs than expected to move the car, if so could be a slipping rear band, might get away with an adjustment.

must be a slipping rear band?
that sounds right

Again, is this every time, or just after first start in the morning?  The fluid may need to fill up the torque converter first.  If so, how does it shift back and forth from drive and reverse after warmed up?  Do you check the fluid level warmed up and in neutral, not just park?  A loose converter will move the car the more you give it gas.  A slipping transmission will feel like it moves less the more you give it gas.
