Very cool car !!!! The only thing I don't like about 68 Chargers though , is that seat design , and the pointy dash pad . Wouldn't mind owning this one !!!!

His dad passed away 6 days ago. unless I was living in a box no way no how would I sell that car. and why would you not back it out in the sunlight and list 24 pictures especially for a car you know is going to bring good money.

How can someone go into such a detailed service history about brake cyls, lines, re-doing some undercoating, etc., etc. and yet completely forget about pulling and rebuilding the Engine ?

And then paint the engine the wrong color ?

Why is the Engine painted BLUE, instead of TURQUOISE ?

Sure looks "Blue" to me ?
and,
they even painted things like the "Rubber" Valve Cover Gaskets painted (which they didn't have in 1968, see the distinctive "FelPro" gasket tangs ?) so painted WITH the Engine later, Fuel Pump, etc., etc. ?
They even got paint overspray on a few of the spark plug wires in the photo just above the power steering reservoir ?

Be nice to have somebody who knows the "resto" vrs the "original" side of things to comment here ?  

But my guess is that is a fresh Engine ? Engine Job ?

The site I listed my Charger would limited you on how many pictures you could add & how many words in description unless you paid a extra premium which I didn't. Any Customer Interested I sent probably 50 pics to. Did you ever ask for pics Homerr? Should of sold mine on Greedbay. LEON.

Leon,  I truly wish you had gotten more for your car.

But to rehash one last time -

1.  I PM'd you to find out if the car was auto or 4-speed.  Description fail.  (It was auto so I wasn't further interested.)
2.  Relying solely on cars-on-line pic limit to advertise the car was folly.  I think I saw here on DC that you posted one rear angle shot once, but it still didn't show what the damage was.  Maybe you had it listed elsewhere with pics but I never saw it - and I was looking.
3.  A car advertised with damage and no pics of damage - big no-no!
4.  I still don't understand why a body/paint guy with a damaged car would not fix the car for sale.  I gather you were advertising it as survivor/original paint.  But still - original paint with a bashed up fender or whatever it was vs. 80% original paint with nicely done repair?  My guess is selling a damaged car is about 10x harder.
5.  I didn't get a sense of a serious/motivated seller - advertising on CL, DC (seriously, no ad here?!), FBBO, etc.  There was a lot of free advertising left on the table before putting any need to put it on Ebay.

My take is that these factors compounded on each other to work against you.  I'm going to throw in one other factor that is pure speculation/guesswork.

6.  Since you are still talking about this after the sale - maybe you are difficult to work with on a sale.  If you are, you probably aren't even aware of it as an issue.  I just sense some self-sabotage from you at times.  Maybe you are coming at this from a victim perspective - the site limited my photos, Homerr never asked for pics, buyers didn't give me enough money - blaming others are all clues to this.

Imagine an ad with clearly stated description, options, condition, pics of damage, link to additional pics (including the usual VIN/fender tag/broadcast sheet, if any), and price - advertised on multiple sites.  I would have seen a motivated seller which I knew was serious about selling a car.


I don't mean any of this to be an attack.  It's just my take what I saw over time and may be totally wrong.  And I do like you Leon, I like your insights and comments you post here.

I did post car on ebay, on craigslist & on here at DC. My limited ad pics did show damage. I was hard to deal with only because my price was firm & everybody was trying to lowball me a $15,000 offer. I was in no rush to take a lowball offer. Pic of my damaged front fender below. LEON.
