Heavy duty engine stand for BIG engine ?

Can I get some suggestions on a heavy duty engine stand ?

Brand ?

Where to buy ?

You may find, as I did, that you will spend some coin to get a good one that is not some flimsy POS.
That is the great thing about these BB, flat pan rails below the crank.
I used a couple 2x12's along each side ( just had to clearance for dipstick ), some 3/4" plywood fastened with 3" screws on each end and a jig-saw relief cut for the dampner. Couple two foot 2x4's (or 2x6's if you have) on the bottom for the HD casters to bolt to and presto! A mobile dodge BB on a concrete floor. I even have the same under a 383 with a 727 still attached!

If this is just a temporary engine holding device you are looking for I would do as FJMG suggested and make something simple with casters.
Your engine is assembled and ready to run so their should be no need for a waist high rotating stand.
Some 2"x2"x 1/4" angle and casters from home depot rated for the weight is not costly and when not in use takes little space.

I ended up with the heaviest one I could get from Jegs after having a "regular" one fold on me with a 440.  (it was fully dressed but still well under the rated load  )

I used one similar to that. you want a wide well supported base.

I made these for shoving the engines under my storage shelves. Each is a Harbor Freight 1,000 lb mover's dolly cut in half and extended to about 24" I think with 2x4" scrap strategically placed to hit the block. Total price about $12 each (wait for a sale on the dollies or they're about $20). As with anything HF, buy it in the store if possible so you can "test" it first because about 1 in 3 will have a "sticky" caster or wheel.
