Okay it's been about a year I put off getting one for the Jeep and Charger. Anyone got a recommended lower price unit that has worked well?  :shruggy: There seems to be 100's on the market all with different features. I've no clue what features are best? (Or needed.)

Troy

I have a couple of these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4KN1ER5435

They have enough memory to keep a couple hours of video. There's G sensor in case of a crash and the base contains a GPS so they have location and speed. The picture quality is pretty good at night too. You can, of course, order them without the G sensor and GPS for a lower price.

I read a lot of what this guy has to say:

Be careful where you buy it:

ive been running this one for a few months:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JIMFVX2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00

I got one because I live in an apartment complex with a multilevel parking structure and people drive like maniacs. That being said, I've had a few close calls on the road...glad the cam was there in case something had happened. Its nothing fancy, but gets the job done. I have it set to record in 10 minute loops. You'll need a 8-16GB microSD card, should run you $10-15 depending on where you get it.

How does it do at night and for license plate reading?  I getting new ones and looking to replace the two I got on Ebay..  I would like to get the forward and back view cam.

I'm hoping there will be some good deals come up next  Black Friday.

My son wants one with a 360 degree view while his car is parked in the High School parking lot. Anyone got any recommendations for that? I guess it'd have to record or 8 hours too. Thanks!

It has a night vision mode but it doesnt work too well. Best bet is to disable it...itll basically pick up whatever your headlights and street lighting illuminate. It'll pick up plates depending on the distance. It can be set at 1080P.

I think if things got to that point, I'd move, or have the kid take the bus  :Twocents:

Yep, the only time I could see needing one of those is going through a topless car wash!  :icon_smile_big:

So who found a deal?   I've looked and the more I look the more it gets confusing but I have learned there are a lot of fakes on EBay and Amazon posing as a real one.   I think we call them clones  :smilielol: and yes I have one too

Eventually I'll try the one Troy has!  :2thumbs:
