I somehow happened onto this WHILE LOOKING FOR 1:18  scale diecast  movie cars. I don't know if the guy is making them himself or not. look at the thumbnail pictures and you will see a full size DMCL car at a car show complete with a movie poster in front of the car. I can't see what the sign says but here is the 1:18 scale cars cars for sale  The stripe is too high up on the front fenders. :popcrn:

i did announce they were going to produce an accurate DMCL charger a few months ago. it's good they are now available.

This is NOT the same car that was going to be released and then put on hold. I think this guy is making them & painting them. I am not sure he has done any licensing research because if 20th century fox  sees it they will jump all over the guy to get their share or stop it all together. I think these may be plastic model kits he is building & painting.

No, these are the old Charger 1:18 metal diecasts. The ones that have been around since the early 90's. It looks like he is taking them apart and painting them. There are guys that do this and make various alternate GL versions or replicas of rarer versions and sell them.

That son of a bitch is using pictures of my car to sell this.....

Don't you feel honored?

Khyron

not if he's making money off my hard work, I sent him a message asking to remove the pictures, The pictures of his product should be enough for him to sell it, he doesn't need to profit off my hard work. Or he can use a movie picture.

Was that your diecast pics I seen?  I seen your actual car pics used, didn't know about the diecast.  I do see your point though.  He should have asked, but, when you post a pic online, you do need to realize that others will use it as well.  That is what they mean by "sharing" a pic on the net.  Just pointing it out. :Twocents: :2thumbs:

naaa, you're right, I may just be a little touchy on the subject right now :-/ ....

If you don't explicitly say that the pictures are copyright and one needs permission to use them, they can do whatever they want with them.  Except put it up for sale of course.

Still. I'd be offended as well.  I don't know how Just 6T9 can keep his cool about it either.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I guess it depends on the circumstances but I don't think it would bother me too much. :shruggy:

I am glad I stumbled onto that so you could see him using your car, that isn't right. i thought i had seen your car photo somewhere and now i know it was your car. I agree, he should use one from the movie and at least come here to ask your permission.

That's glad to hear.  I hope it works out.  Don't forget to see if he'll sign on here as well. :2thumbs:

It was probably all a clever and twisted ploy to ultimately get you to sell him your car.  Looks like you fell right into his trap.

A clever mouse can get the cheese, and not get caught.  A foolish mouse gets caught, and doesn't get the cheese.

The real part of the stripe is sitting pretty high up on the quarter panel, it needs to be lower at bumber level. What diecast car is that who makes it ?
