Hi All
I was out test driving the charger the other day(new alternator & battery) when some idiot made a left turn in front of me and I had to slam on the brakes. Thank God I didn't hit him but the charger died. I thought this was weird and went out on one of the back roads and every time I braked hard the engine stalled out.
What causes this?

Check your carburetor float levels; probably too low...

Years ago I had a similar problem with my '70 road runner. It turned out to be a worn throttle shaft on the carb. It had a vacuum leak that caused the engine to die when using the brakes. I had the carb. throttle shaft bushed and the problem was solved.

my radio turns off and back on when I hit the brake. Might be an electrical problem and is turning off your ignition. Try disconnecting your brake lights. :shruggy:

:iagree:
Could be set to high as well causing fuel to spill through the carb flooding the engine.
