My installer ripped my headliner from legendary yesterday. He has done cars for me before so its just a mishap. But I have some questions. On the sides, is the headliner glued only on the backside of the pinchweld next to the weatherstrip trim? Is the cardboard on the C pillar behind the metal plate on the rear deck so we can glue the headliner to the metal plate. Whats the best step procedure, ie top of back window, front window, cpillar, sides?. Got a new headliner coming, want to get it right, any advise appreciated.

Working towards stripping my Superbee down for paint strip and repaint. Figure if I'm going to do it I may as well go all the way and gut the car. My headliner is perfect, installed in 1989 and still soft etc. Is the possibility there to remove it and actually get it back in place, or will I have trouble getting the already trimmed edges back to where they belong?

Anyone??  The ability to put stuff like this back will control the direction of how I go on the "repaint". Just figure the front and rear windshield have never been out of the car, it's probably time to check the areas beneath for rust. Once I pull those I may as well gut the interior and do everything.

I'd plan a new headliner but buy it just before time to install. Any areas glued on the one you have are most likely going to mess up removing and even if okay will they hold up to getting glued back? I bought a headliner for cheap off eBay. It was new but had sat around in the box for some time. The folds in the fabric from sitting in the box are kind of not going away even though I used a heat gun in some areas. For a driver like mine I can just not look up and move on but I regret trying to save 50-60 bucks. I've learned not to let stuff sit around anymore. I'll even be ordering carpet only when ready to install as soon as it shows up.
