Hudson Hornet !

Does anyone know of a place to get a paint mask kit for the graphics?
You've never heard of a Hudson hornet ? !

I don't know the answer to your question but I think you mean templates or stencils. A mask is something you wear on your face.

Hudson Hornet !

Vinyl Paint Mask- same material as vinyl graphics, just used for painting. Spray a color, peel, spray, etc.

I bet masking tape baffles you.

The basic flag and door numbers can be done with tape. The stars can be done best with a mask. Just get the size star you want cut in masking material from any sign shop. You can find the font you want and have them cut the roof text too. I guess what you have to figure out is how you plan on painting it. If you are spraying pant, have one large mask made for the white, then after dry, float a slightly smaller mask over it to mask off the white boarders.

My only suggestion would be use automotive paint. The first half dozen cars used lettering/striping enamel and it is a bitch. You can overlap anything on the white, but not vice versa. You also have a very narrow window to reapply paint, otherwise you have to wait a very long period of time so it cures. If you don't you end up with wrinkling. The benefit is the colors stay vibrant longer, the paint is tough (many times tougher than any auto paint), and if done the old school way on top of the topcoat, you can touch it up easily.

Here is my flag done with the lettering enamel, masked with tape on the bulk, fineline tape to make the stars. I hadn't painted the text yet. I made the masks, but haven't been bothered to do it.

This is the way Im gonna do my lettering when I get to this point. Im gonna paint them on and clear over them

GL440, your avatar pic and my pic showcase just how whacked out photography still is to this day. If you look at those two images, the blue in the lettering in mine appears to match the blue in your pic. However, I painted my flag using the leftover paint from that very car. My flag blue and that cars blue are from the same can. Yet look how dark it looks in my pic.

Yea there are alot of variances on all the GL's. When I go to paint mine, im gonna use navy blue on the flag and GL

I second this suggestion. I just bought the decal kit that I wanted from him and went w/stickers. They turned out great and, in the end, I'm glad that I went with the decals rather than painting. The graphics look that good.
