Its hard to drop money on this stuff not knowing if its quality or junk?  Has anyone had any experience with this conversion kit for my 68 Charger?

I have tried to research it on the site but everything I can find on this here is an old post.

I would appreciate the help.  $650 is a chunk of change to drop.

Thanks,
Jon

I haven't tried that kit but I did buy the correct dual diaphragm booster for disc brakes from them recently.  It was over $300 alone.  So a kit with a booster doesn't seem to bad to me for 600.  I think they are a GM booster for what is worth.

The Bendix reproduction booster?  Did it fit the original firewall plate?  Some sources say the hole is too small and to buy the reproduction plate as well...just curious.

Have not had time to try it yet.  Their website does say that now though.

That seems like a good price for everything that is include, maybe too good which makes me doubt its quality.  I know Cass at Dr Diff has top notch stuff and is very helpful with what you want to do.  Comparison of prices leads me to further doubt Captain Jack.

I did buy this kit for my 71 Charger a couple of years ago.
Ordered drilled and slotted rotors option, the kit came with spindles, calipers, pads, rotors, master cylinder (chevy), dual diapraghm booster and some adapter bracket and linkage. (Similar to Hemi-bracket)
The spindles, rotors and calipers are working great. The main cylinder startet to let air in the back of the piston after one year. The firewall hole needs cutting and drilling to fit the MC-booster-Bracket-linkage setup.
I am currently changing out the MC-booster setup for aluminium Mopar manual 15/16" MC from Doctor Diff. The Mopar MC is maybe 8-10 pounds lighter than the MBM MC-booster setup.
In short I would buy the disc kit again but not the MC-booster setup.

Thanks, I ended up purchasing the spindles and rotors and calipers from PerformanceOnline.com and was very happy with the quality for $399.  For the Booster and Master I found the period correct rebuilt unit at RockAuto.com for $99 and the correct rear prop valve (MD2274) at classicindustries.com for $89.  I still spent the $600 but the quality of my parts is superior.

Thanks,
Jon

Just curious what booster you bought?  Part #?

Cardone booster/master combo part# 503603 and it was a direct bolt on to car with no mods.

I bought the kit from Dr. Diff and the booster.  I had the power drum booster and had to enlarge the hole a 1/4".  Also, the calipers must be mounted toward the rear if you have a front sway bar.

From looking at mine, it was a factory Disc set up that was reman because it was plug and play with no mods.  I simply unbolted the drum booster/master and bolted on the disc set up.  Other than having to bend some new brake line it was pretty simple.  That would suck to have to modify the firewall like that.
