More and more lately than before I keep seeing about the 70 Charger commercial with Elliot as having been banned.  Is there any actual evidence anywhere stating that it was in fact banned?  Or is this just another urban myth thanks to the internet?

My Bet is it was originally posted as "Banned" to drive up you tube hits beyond people just looking for a 70 charger commercial

Ghoste

That's what I was kind of thinking too.  I can't honestly say that I remember seeing it on tv but I was only 8 then and they probably wouldn't have run it on Saturday morning anyway (for you youngsters who grew up with Nickelodeon and the Cartoon Network, a long long time ago in the olden days we only had cartoons on Saturday and while mom and dad slept off their hangovers and grabbed we piece we all sat riveted to Scooby Doo).
I don't recall seeing the word "banned" used in connection with it until a few years ago but lately it seems to have gathered steam. :shruggy:

polywideblock

considering that all advertising agency's had the same "sex sells"  motto  in the 60's, 70's I cant see it being banned  :scratchchin:

Precisely!  What about the "Mother Warned Me" ads or "The Eternal Triangle"?  They were every bit as sexist as that 70 one.
