"Generally" (pun) positive. However, went out just yesterday in it and you could feel an unusual amount of glares. All from whites. But that is how it has been anyway. Any negative reactions I have personally encountered have been from white upper middle class, and female.

I think at the moment, it's too early to tell.  The GL guys have had the pleasure of being one of the most popular cars at car shows and what not, but as people are given enough time to contemplate what is going on at the moment,  GL popularity maybe waning due to being politically incorrect.

i think the general lee will become more popular, look at the sales of all the confederate flag merchandise and dukes of hazzard sales, this whole issue is just making rebel flag supporters more proud to show their colors

The GL's popularity is finite as long as the franchise doesn't get a decent remake or continuation movie/TV of some sort.


The youngest viewers to remember seeing the TV show's original run are 35-40yo now.  

The 2005 remake movie's influence was so small that it still hasn't even been released on Blu-Ray today.

Most people understand that the show was one of the most none racist shows made and dont have an issue with the car anyway.
