Z bar solid bushing

My Z bar has on one side the proper whole for the pushing in the seal.  The other side someone pressed in a solid tube.  Then tapered the end to match the ball..so it is like a ball joint.

Has anyone ever heard of this?  I was just going to press out the tube but wanted to check and see if this is some sort of "high performance" setup for the Z bar??

Thanks for the comments.

Pictures will help to see if someone recognizes it from another application or aftermarket.  Sounds like it could have just been a homemade setup in order to not use the plastic factory bearing?   :shruggy:

Sound like someone had issues with the Z-bar popping out of place when banging gears.....
DIY fixing stuff I guess

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Sounds more like somebody simply didn't have access to the proper half-bushings. Shadetree mechanicing at its finest.  :icon_smile_big:
