I could use some feedback I am doing a radiator swap to cool my overheating issues I currently am running a 19in flex light fan and I'm considering replacing it for standard bolt on steel fan.  You can see how they  flatten out at higher rpm's. would it help to put a solid fan in or should I just leave the flexalite in? I was hoping that putting in the new Griffin aluminum radiator with the shroud would solve the issues. I am also installing a big B and M tranny cooler separate from the radiator.  anyone have any experience is with this. Is the flexalite contributing to the heat issues?

Those flexlite fans should have gone out with the 70s.  They are garbage.  Get an original Mopar fan and viscous drive, can' t do better than that.  Diagnosing cooling problems isn't easy, but at least eliminate this issue.

Throw that flex lite away before someone gets hurt.  They're not even good garage art.

The shroud, when properly executed, will make a world of a difference with cooling.  Going this route allows you to throw away ALL mechanical fans and run a top line electric puller fan designed to fit the shroud perfectly.  You can add a pusher if needed.  Many out-of-the-box vendors to select from, or have one custom built. :yesnod:

My flex fan grenaded itself in my driveway a few years ago and pierced the radiator and hit the hood.  I did not mind as my head was in that location not 15 seconds earlier.

I since have replaced it with a proper fan, clutch hub, and shroud.  Temps didn't go down though, they have always been good.  There's usually something else going on iv the car gets hot with any fan.

Regardless, lose the flex fan!  Those things should be illegal.

what the other guys say ,  some of these flexis are   death traps  :yesnod:    having said this have a  flexi fan on mine   , its a heavy duty type with  stainless steel blades , works good ,   second owner put it on  back in 85 ...  have the correct 216 fan to go on , but  like this flexi fan works great  , weighs next to nothing compared to the stock 216 fan & clutch , thinking less stress on water pump bearings  :yesnod:

not sure on make  , had a advertising  sticker under the hood , when I first got the charger , saying make of flexi fan etc , but soon peeled it off   :yesnod:  , might order a new one up soon ( seeing the one on there is 30 years old   )

pretty sure is a derale flexie    have matched it up on their web site & looks identical  :yesnod: :shruggy:  see below

been looking at those solid plastic fans  , recently   ,  might be a good idea  :scratchchin: :shruggy:

×10 with everyone else.   Total garbage.   Stock fan is just fine.   Electric with shroud is even better like 68×426 said.    :2thumbs:
