I would image the skid plate is for use on dirt tracks, or you could say it is a wing to match the car. :D.

I'd imagine it's because they had a wheel issue on the jack and no wheels are the best wheels.    :coolgleamA:

Maybe!  During the 200 run, they made a gear change, so a jack and stands were used!
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?
