Your talent will be missed by many

dads_69

I knew something was up since he hasn't been on the show. Boyd Coddingtons number one body man. His talent was beyond amazing. I seen the hood he made for that 60's corvette, and I was wowed by that alone.
To bad it said he passed away in 2005.
R.I.P Roy.......
Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

i saw that corvette hood too , i though his sheet metal  skills were just awesome . R.I.P  Roy

The Ghoul

I can only wish to be one day as much of a charictor as he was... I know I will never be able to match his craftsmenship.

how did he die?......He jsut retired not along ago from what I gather watching the show occasionaly........that really sucks to work so hard all your life and then you retire and pass away a year later.

I think he was kinda semi retired during the show, he worked when he wanted.  He was a character.  I have not seen the show for a long long time.  I thought they took it off.  What channel is it on or network, it used to be on discovery?

Still on Discovery.......I haven't really watched it in a while either....I think that Dwayne is a loser..... I wish there was less drama and deadlines and more actual footage of them building the car. Every once in a while they would surprise me and actually show something worth watching.

anyone know what night and time it aires?

Monday nights on the Discovery channel. Not sure about the time, I usually catch it when they repeat it at 12 am. Maybe 8-9 pm?

What Ponch said, It's on Monday's 9PM EST.
Sad thing is Roy's wife passed away only a month or two prior. You have to wonder about the amount of lead and other chemicals Roy was exposed to over his career.

I've only seen that show a few times. Which one was he?

Steve P.

Roy was the only one there that had real talent. At least he was the only one left in the rod shop with talent.  He was the tin man. Older guy that did all the metal fabrication.

So long Roy...........

Roys wife died shortly before he did, They were very close.
So I guess you can Die of a broken heart !!

This info was on Coddingtons website last year

I just saw the episode today.  They dedicated the last half hour talking about Roy.  That was a nice touch.  He will be definitely missed on the show.  All Dwayne could say was "it will be  hard to find someone to replace Roy."  He was a very talented person and a character to boot.

He did die in 2005 because that is when that episode was taped because the SEMA show is in Oct/Nov.

He was a wizard with metal. Could make anything from nothing. Talent like that cannot be taught.
But all those shows with the looming "deadlines" to try to generate excitement is past lame. Just show the guys with talent doing what they do best, not fake and lamely acted scripted drama.
