One of my friends told me about a 1970 charger RT that was being sold by an estate but not advertised. So I decided to go look at it.
The good: It is a 1 owner car. The car is completely untouched and stock, original paint (whats left of it) It is an RT and a SE with original 440 4bbl auto trans. Plumb crazy purple with AC. Interior is very nice with no wear or tears. Just very dirty from animals and mildew.
The Bad: The car sat outside for 15-20 years. It rotted from the ground up. There is rot in the floors, Frame rails, rockers inner and outer and pretty much every panel. Even holes in the top of the fenders which tells me the rot is bad.
I asked what she wants but she said she is only taking best offers from the interested people they told about the car and will decide if she gets a good enough offer. I couldn't even get a ballpark idea. What would be a fair offer? Does the car hold any value as it sits?

Hard Charger

unless you are a body man looking for a money pit, walk away. you will be upside down quick.

70 sublime

Sounds more like a donnor car than a project car
Donnor cars that are all there are hard to find also
$2500 but the owner wants best offer and someone will come along with $5000 thinking they have found an excellent project
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

Whatever the going rate for 8.75 rears & complete 440-4 drivetrains sell for?

F8-4life

Even if its really rusty a factory purple 70 Rt is a nice find, even a parts car if complete and untouched could be 5k or more.
It could be saved just because its fc7.
It all depends on the rust damage.

If your not willing to drop $40,000 into it then don't make an offer. With the rot you described it will run you that much to fix it unless you do all the metal work yourself.

I agree. Go to the bank and borrow 40K and find you a good car and drive it tomorrow. That will be a bottomless pit for sure.

I don't see the car being restorable at all. Every single panel has rot and some of the frame sections. But it does have a nice complete interior and drivetrain. I'm considering buying it to just part out. What would be a fair offer to make?

A good front clip (which you can't seem to find) would set you back 3k just for 2 fenders and a hood. Take it from a fellow 70 owner they are a one off year so more $$ in parts. If its that rusty is there a fender tag left ? If no fender tag or build sheet walk away even at $2000 bucks.

Would you please register the car @ The '70 Charger Registry so we all know it's been knocked in the head?  Thanks!

The car does have its fender tag. I did not look for the build sheet, but im sure its in it. The car is completely stock and untouched in any way... aside from rust and critters
