The rear window regulator is a mind cracker isnt it......

I took mine apart as far as I could in the car and then took it out from the trunk side. (Slide it over the wheel well trough the quarter towards the trunk).

Will give that a try next time I'm out there, maybe today weather providing.  Thanks.

You ain't kidding Mytur.  Not counting everything I've already purchased my shopping list is up to 11.5k and that doesn't include anything for the engine or interior yet.
This car will suck me dry, no way I'm going to afford everything to finish it to my standards in a single year. I'm aiming for sometime mid-2016 but we all know how how project timelines never meet expectations....

My friend just take your time and finish it the way you want it.  If it takes a year or ten years it is all relative.  Trust me, I do understand you want it road ready as soon as possible but cutting corners in the process is not worth it.  Most of us here have been in your shoes and feel your pain.

The hubcaps with the red center and 5 spokes are from 68 (same as on the Bullitt Charger). I'm looking for some - but only if they're real nice.

I don't know how much metal you purchased but be prepared to buy more. I had three separate metal orders for my Challenger - and it looked really solid before I started! Not to mention bolts, screws, clips, seals, etc. Of the ones you still have you'll likely destroy about half while disassembling the car...

That looks like an automatic column shifter to me.

I know I'll be making at least one more stop at the metal supplier, haha.

Already bought new body, k-member and steering box bolts from US Tool, and without a doubt I will be replacing every single clip and screw with brand new parts.

Tackled a bit more today but I didn't touch that window mechanism, another day for that.

I got the rear bumper off, rear side marker lights, and passenger door trim and drip rail trim.  Most of all I got the giant ass of this behemoth swung to the other side of the barn so I can get to the passenger door bolts and get it off.  That will be done next visit to the car.  The barn has a dirt floor so there is a huge headache associated with moving it this way...




I have a question for anyone who can answer.  I have no clue what kind of rear axle I'm looking at here!  Can anyone ID this and tell me about it? 
It doesn't look like any on this cheat sheet. It sort of looks like that Dana 35 but those were only used in Jeeps when I looked it up.  Even more I don't see a rubber drain plug on the case cover anywhere...

To me it didn't look that that picture but upon more investigation today I found this.

Mine does look just like that, not even a plug on the case cover.

Either way I'm thinking this axle isn't worth keeping once I pull it off the car.

I have one in my garage out of my 69 Charger, I have listed it for sale but no takers at $50.00 I will probably scrap mine.

Picked up a serious piece of equipment. (Well serious for me at least.)  This should make my life easier when the build comes, and I can blast and paint myself now.

Never mind the oil on it, I had to lay it down to get it home in my Caliber and I didn't realize it was pre-filled with oil, woops.

I read today that column shifters were not available on 1970 Chargers?  The car was born a automatic, I wonder if someone swapped in a 3 on the tree or if that info about no column shift in '70 was wrong?  I saw the horn button on the passenger floor.

Turn that hood 90 degrees to rest on one of the sides!  (not bumper or cowl ends)

Thanks for the info on the column. 

On the hood, sure, will do, but the hood it total "scrap" at this point.  Even when I bought the car it was always totally rusted.  The top portion is mostly alright, but underneath it's so soft even a graze of my finger and it falls apart.  I could only see it useful if someone wanted a cheap donor hood to cut pieces off of to repair original metal.
