I was wondering if anyone could help me decipher the 1st line of my fender tag from my 73 Charger SE that was built at the Lynch Road Plant?  It is stamped just like this:

01105   149013  056  989807

I know the 056 is the engine code but not sure about the rest.  Thanks for your help!

Saved this from somewhere.
Hope it helps.

Thanks for the picture/ good info ODZKING.

So it looks like
01105 is the Gate Base Sequence
149013 is the Line Sequence

056 is the engine code  = 400 4bl with Manual Transmission

989 =  Axel??  What does this number mean?

807 =  Transmission??  What does this number mean?

Thanks

per GG's "white book":

989 =  axle (3.23s w/sure-grip & 10" brakes - 8-3/4")

73 Charger SE P Code Car

Looks like a nice car :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

And someone already did the hidden headlight conversion for you

bjwestby

Thanks Vegas Charger!  I have always liked the looks of the hidden headlights too!  Car must have been in a fender bender at some time as the hood, right front fender, front bumper and lights have been replaced.  I would guess they did the headlight conversion at that time.  I bought a nice bulge hood that I am planning on putting on.

Anyone know what the 807 transmission code is?

Thanks

6bblgt

I missed the 4-spd part .....

per the '73 Parts Catalog: the 4-spd transmission for a '73 400 = 3515 857

The XXXX 807 number on the fender tag and b'cast sheet would be for the 4-spd transmission assembly including the shifter (& possibly the shift "lever").
The "807" is the number that would be stamped in paint on the side of the transmission case.

Has anyone seen a listing of these 7-digit manual transmission assemblies for any year?

bjwestby

Thanks GBBLGT!  I looked at the transmission and the 807 is painted on there just like you said.  Thanks for the head up, I appreciate it.
