 i have a 73 charger and i pulled fender tag and paint code is jy3 but on decode says unkown at this time,but i know it was some kind of gold...  trim/style color code is c2y4   charger/bench/gold.   also v5x is some kind of black moldings,protective insert body side...  im trying to determine if i want to go back original color... oh and yellow vinyl top... seems to me like alot of one color for such a big body. sounds like all in all was an ugly color combination

JY3 light gold    ,  the J prolly means   its a new color for the J Series model year  , because there is a nother Y3 older color which is a cream a solid , not metallic

Thank you.  The y3 light gold is the color of my engine bay.   Wonder why they would putna gold vinyl top on top of light gold body.  That's a lot of one color.

yes  the factory for sales banks & or buyers sure ordered a lot of  odd ( well not odd , well to us may be   ) color combos back then !

dark metallic Grey / dark silver ,  looks good on a third generation  ,

 think Gunmetal is code A5 on the color chips I posted
