ok guys as usualy my intent has been mis-read. the natzi talk was just kidding around. i dont think that germans or the vw company are currently socilist. I did however find it ironic that the commercial is destroying peoples individualizem and trying to get them all to drive the little white cars that look like every one elses.
I am pissed tho. I personally like vw but I hate it when any one insted of trying to promote themselfs they try to tare some one else down.
It realy isnt that big of a deal and I dont know why this became an issue. It was fine and the topic moved on.

I don't see them tearing anyone in particular down. They don't mention brand names or anything, just pointing out if you want style AND performance use this car as a base.  The ad is just that, an ad for a car.  I find it funny, especially because the Mob guy from Prison Break is on it, Dabrutsy (or whatever).
I find it a far cry from VW trying to get everyone into their little white car, who knows, they may even sell it in another color, like Nazi red?

VW dumped their long time ad agency and signed some relative newcomers from Miami. Personally, I think they've done a great job. I like both the fast and the unpimp series. My wife thinks "the fast" is stupid. The ad guys acknowledged that the fast would probably annoy women but said the vast majority of the market for GTI type cars is male so they decided what the hell. They may want to lighten up on the whole German engineering rant though. It's all that German engineering that has gotten VW to the bottom of both the initial quality and long term reliability ratings. Heck, the Koreans are beating them in both categories and not too long ago anything made in Korea was disposable.
