Has anyone considered or used either Viper or SRT4 seats in a Charger ??

Does anyone know whether or not Dodge Viper seats would fit well in a 1968 Charger?  If so, did you have to fabricate special mounts, or make any other changes?  Was it worth the cost & effort?  THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

After taking 4 road trips of approx 900 miles, I am beyond ready to pull my stock seats and make the change. The SRT4 seats have been considered. For $300/Cloth or $360/Leather, they are an attractive choice. I doubt the seat tracks would be a direct bolt in.

yes there's been threads on it ,
Myk CDR are the few in recent memory that changed seats out ,  I'm going to do the same but was also looking at the kits from lengendary with the side bolstering to retro fit our original seats
regarding any late model seats  like those you listed  ,
yep, going to have to fabricate and modify to fit

Be aware that the vast majority of modern car seats will be several inches taller than the stock front buckets.  Mounted in an old B-body, a modern seat's shoulder height will be visible far above the top of the door/quarter.

The stock 60s Mopar buckets are a large seat bottom with a small/short seatback.

I never thought of it.  I've got a spare set of SRT 4 seats laying around here.  I don't recall a long trip in the Neon being more comfortable than a 600 mile drive in the Charger but maybe my butt's just getting older.  I don't think the seat height would be an issue with the SRT 4 seats.

I tried mocking up some 1990s Neon seats in my 2nd-gen a few years ago.  Not sure how similar they are to the SRT-4 seats.

The fit wasn't half bad.  The seat bottom was a bit small and the top was a bit tall.  Better than most modern seats though.

I didn't end up using them because I'm picky about the strength of the frames/mechanisms.   The Neon seats were kinda flimsy.

My understanding is any of the Neon seats interchange but maybe someone from the Neon forum can chime in.  The SRT 4 seats seem to have good structure.

Where did you find them that cheap? I've been looking for a set for awhile but everyone wants a lot of cash for seats that need to be recovered.

Me?  I've had mine for several years.  I had them in my SXT but now I also have an R/T with leather seats.  They seem a lot more comfortable.  I wish they had seat heaters in them.  Interested in the SRT seats?

On that note, may I suggest the Procar Ralley seats.  They're just the right height and the head rest can be removed for a more vintage look.

Viper or Neon seats were considered at one point, but I didn't want to deal with the cost...

I like those seats, Myk. Very nice. Care to spill all the details? Model name and number? Cost? Any trouble with installation?
My car cuts corners like a frugal housewife but these seats SUCK for cornering!

Agreed, MYK, those seats look great!  I'm actually looking for a set myself.  How are they on long drives?
