Hey everyone, just been working a lot and just got back from vacation cruise.

Before we left this time we did RPDE at Daytona again, 167mph this time, 20 laps, the instructor kept looking over and adjusting the cars power, since I had done it before I was going full out, I think he was trying to keep me under 170mph.

We went to Don Garlits museum in Ocala too.  That place is incredible, all the cars we watched race growing up are there, Connie's Bounty Hunter, Jungle Jims car, The Blue Max, Snake and Mongoose cars, all the Swamp Rats, The Sidewinder and the Wynns Liner, Shirleys 1982 car and the Last Pass car.

He has a 300 or so classic car museum, I didn't know he was into Fords too, He has a Granatelli Dodge with a Paxton supercharger on it, and other stuff.

He has a Engine room with a ton of stuff, Smokey Yunick tuned stuff, more blown Hemis I have ever seen in one place and 2 SOHC 427s, One in a case and the other in one of Katillas Bounty Hunters.  Flatheads everywhere and a whole wall of flat head intake set ups.  And in one corner a ton of intakes induction stuff.

We stayed in Daytona Beach, only a few blocks from where Smokey Yunick's shop was, but there is nothing left of it.

here are some pics, full album on the link

Truely Amazing!  Thank you so much for sharing all of your photos!  Great job on the pics!

I can relate so many memories to the majority of your pictures.  From back in the day stories from my father and his father,  to my own stories.

Absolutely stunning museum!

I still think I have Don's manual Charger 500 here?
The last 1969 Charger-500 440 4-speed built and was repainted Black/red, then later covered with 'Teal-Blue'!
Someone must know the History of this Florida C500???

I also have a 'one off' 440 development engine from Weslake Engineering UK.
It was a dyno engine sent to them in 1970, 440 Sixpack build with special shortened 'hemi-rods'.
The 'unique' part being the 'W2' style (cast-iron) 'OVAL-PORT' and 'D-PORT' Bigblock heads.
Open chamber design with the extra water-holes as per the Motorhome heads.
I will post some pictures for referance.

The imfamous Dick Landy was trying to purchase them for many years.
I felt the engine belonged in the UK as a Weslake development piece.
But now I have offered it to Marlene/Don Garlits for the Museum.

Reported (bad-pun) to have made 600hp on the Weslake dyno in 1970!!! :drool5:
A possible Nascar engine after the hemi-ban???

Best wishes 500Jon.

500Jon

More pics on Aero section!

Still no reply from Marlene at the Museum?
Seemed really interested in the Weslake engine.
She was under the impression I was donating it!
If I was a rich man I would, BUT, I paid serious money for this engine.
I have looked after it through thick and thin for over thirty years!!!

Yes I want Mopar Folks to see and admire THIS UNIQUE ENGINE., but we all got Mortgages to pay LoL!!! :smilielol:
So what's it worth.

SERIOUS ANSWERS PLEASE???
