1/4 extensions hardware?

Hey guys, I just put the  1/4 extensions on the other night and the bottoms on both pieces didn't really tighten up. I'm not a huge fan of those speed nuts. I got brand new ones and they just don't feel secure enough. Am I using the wrong size , or are the bottoms different  than the top 2? That " gasket" doesn't seem to do much either between extension and body. Is that supposed to be glued or something? I was using 1/4" speed nuts.

They weren't attached with speed nuts. These are the correct nuts:

Thank you very much!  The car was already repainted once when I got it, so the car had been messed with a little. Guess those were laying around when it came time to reassemble. Thanks again for the link!
