Looks like a '68 with the perfect hood scoop to me... :shruggy:O

I will say that I like how the interior is set up with folding rear seats: I absolutely refuse to buy an SUV or a truck so having even more cargo capability would be great...

I like the blend of first generation interior with the second generation body style.  Of course for '67 the Charger had the same "short" center console as the '68 would have.  So would have Dodge revered to a two year old design for their "new" Charger...perhaps not.   But, it just seems to fit and work....

I actually started to test fit a '66 Charger console in my '70 a few years back, but couldn't figure out how I wanted to make the area behind the seats work.  I was going to open up the area behind the seats so that it would have been wide open much like the '66-'67 Charger.   But, decided not to go that route...now I may rethink....(or not)  :scratchchin:

I really like the interior in my 67 for all of those reasons but I prefer the way my 69 is the way it came.  I don't know why exactly but there is something mid sixties kitschy about the 1st gen styling that works well with the space age instruments and seating.  It nicely bridges the gap between the early sixties space age car and what was about to happen with American culture as it changed at the end of the decade.   :shruggy:

no offence meant to anyone , not sure if its me  :P , but there seems to be a miss match of ideas with these types of builds ,   a hemi & a hood scoop & a manual trans , no radio !   then it has full interior  air conditioning  :shruggy:

That's been my reaction to several of Strope's cars.  I like the individual changes better than the whole final car.

That whole folding back seat has me thinking though... :scratchchin:

Yeah I'm with you there.  I think his first cars were a little more subtle too but yeah, the sum is less.

I will tell ya, when we go to Carlisle we bring a bunch of stuff. And the availability of the area behind the seats on our 67 is invaluable.
On the other note, I have a 66 full console that I was going to try to fit into my 67. Clearly would work but rethinking the idea since my 67 was/is mostly factory I decided to leave it alone.
But yeah that would have been a great idea for the 68.  It's really nice having the space I'll tell ya!  :yesnod:

What annoys me is the bias in the automotive press.

I'm frequently looking at Strope's cars thinking, "Well, I guess that's not a BAD car.  But why does the press love it so much?  Give it a 383/auto and a no-name builder, and watch the magazine writers brush it off as amateur hackwork."  The same creativity without big money/fame does not get the same treatment at all.

Perhaps that's one of the reasons why several auto magazines have failed recently.....just saying....
