My rear end squeeks!

And I'm not even that old.

While the car was getting some upgrades this year I added Edelbrock IAS classic shocks.  The shocks themselves seem to work fine, although it's sometimes hard to tell living in the pothole state.   :eek2:

When I back it out of the garage and then drive off, the back will squeek for a minute or two before it resolves itself.  Is this due to the bushings they use?  Is it poly?  Does the squeek go away when they get warm?  Just trying to figure out why it does this out of curiosity.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I'm pretty sure the bushings in my new Hotchkis shocks are poly as well, which is why I was told to grease them with something before I installed them.  I actually wouldn't have followed that advice, except the shocks were so hard to put on in the back that I greased them just to get them on.  If it wasn't for that, I bet I'd be squeaking too...

I don't think I greased mine at all, as I recall they slid right on.  I'll give that a try!   :2thumbs:

Brass

Try hitting the trunk latch with a little WD40 too.  Mine used to squeak a little.

Timely subject..........we never did much beyond air shocks
when the resto on the car was finished in May 2010.
It has always squeaked and groaned for the first few minutes
rolling.

I just had installed a set of Mopar Performance leaf springs
and shackle/rubber bushing kits. What a ride now on a few levels.
The car is quiet, the ride is great and it's tight and responsive.
<$300 total.
FLY NAVY/Marine Corps or take the bus!
