I saw that post, small block rt ? Nope. People are crazy.

chargerbr549

The small block doesn't look original, from the looks of the intake manifold and some emissions stuff its probably an early to mid 80's 2bl small block probably 318.

Ghoste

And it's blue.  He doesn't claim anything in the ad about the engine so the RT part of the equation is probably legit.

I thought 69 R/T had disk brakes? That's a drum master cylinder in the pic.  :scratchchin:

R/T's came standard with 11" drums on all four corners. Disc were optional.

manual brakes were also standard...my R/T was originally manual drums all around
Chris' '69 Charger R/T

b5blue

  Okay....now I've learned something! Thanks!  :2thumbs:

charge69

My R/T came with. and still has,  11" manual drums all around.  With these brakes, you need to be very careful and "plan" ahead to stop!  Ha!

RGA

Still asking way too much, otherwise it would be in my driveway already.

he is asking R/T prices and tells you to, 'google' R/T prices and yet he does not even tell you its not original engine. He is on a slippery slope and hoping someone who does not know anything about the car will buy it for that price he is asking.

its like me telling you I HAVE A HEMI ENGINE TRANSMISSION!

Ghoste

Yes I agree but it seems like misleading ads are the norm unfortunately.  Always have and always will I suppose.

1974dodgecharger

just feel bad for whoever falls for it, if someone falls for it.

Ghoste

But if it is a real RT then its up to the buyer and seller to decide whats fair really.  It isn't what I'd pay but if I were selling I'd try to boost its image for the most bucks I could get too.  :shruggy:
I don't know, sometimes when you actually get there the guy turns out to be okay and sometimes they are just crooks all around.

Bandit72

nobody's even mentioned that the R/T was discontinued in 71 but he claims a 72 R/T
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

Ghoste

Sorry about that, I kind of blew right past that one.

to be honest I like the car  :icon_smile_big:

Lord Warlock

How can a car with only 30k miles look so trashed? 130k I'd think was a possible, I can understand an older car having the wrong motor in it, but a smallblock in an RT is disgraceful.  In this case, if its original mileage, it shouldn't enhance its value that much.
