Pressure Washing Your Interior

Someone showed me a video of a woman at a car wash pressure washing her car.

The entire car.

Including the interior.  :smilielol:

I couldn't link the video but apparently there is a whole subculture of people all over that do this. How could this not be a bad idea?  :shruggy:

I'll admit that I have hit the inside door panels (plastic) on my daily when just hand scrubbing wouldn't take the crud off.  But, this is a little more overkill.

I've done this - to a rhino-lined CJ7 with drain plugs in the floor.

Doing it to a normal car... not in a hurry to find out how that would work out.

Maybe if I lived in Arizona.

My cousins had me powerwash the engine of my first car before we restored it.  I was 15 and cleaned it up beautifully.  Wouldn't start though because I knocked off all the plug wires - probably also a lot of paint.

Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I agree. I have cleaned a lot of nasty vehicles that way... Pull the seats and carpet, pressure wash them, let them air dry a couple of days, then reinstall. Interior looks like new! I work for the Highway Dept, and our work trucks are plain janes with vinyl seats/rubber floor mats. I have to turn it in every 2-3 years to get a new one, and I have to detail the truck I use before I turn it in. Over a couple of years they get real dusty/dirty from daily use, so when I have to clean it, I pull up to a car wash, open all the doors, then power wash everything. Done it numerous times.
