Sorry guys my bad.  I know which hose connects the heater valve with the water pump.  The hoses have different part numbers though and I don't know which goes where.  One is marked 1605 and the other is 1527.

Here is a picture of mine with no A/C and a pic I found of an original 68 engine bay.
Hope it helps.

Dino

I found one picture showing that # 1605 goes to the heater valve.  It's not overwhelming evidence that's how it needs to be but it'll have to do!

What's the source of the hoses? Those numbers aren't familiar.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Bob...yer hoses are on wrong according to service manual...just saying

The repro hoses come with different part numbers and I believed that they had a specific designation.

Here's a pic I found on here that I modeled mine after.

One hose reads 1605 534 83044 and the other reads 1527 532 83044.

On non-A/C cars it seems the heater hoses cross whereas on A/C cars they do not.

On non A/C cars 1605 534 would be the front hose at the water pump housing and the 1527 532 would go onto the nipple to the rear.

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Not a problem tt!  You get well, pain is too much of a ...pain.   :icon_smile_big:

I can only find which hose goes where on non-A/C cars so I don't know how they are supposed to go on mine.  I have them running like the picture I posted.  The good thing is that they are the same length so they are easily swapped if needed.

'Splain?
It is the same as Tan Top's picture.   :scratchchin:
I can't even find anything about it in my service manual.  :shruggy:

Bob...follow the arrows on the hoses....the hose coming out of water pump housing at the rear is supposed to go to the heater core nipple on the left....I'm not sure how or why, but it has something to do with heat transfer inside the core....

Uh kay, I found it.  It's in scetion 1, accessories.
Yes, they do appear to be backward.  However, from looking at pictures on line, apparently it doesn't matter much because it is about 50/50 when it comes to how they're hooked up.  Does it really matter, there has never been an issue?

Uh, sorry again for the hijack.  :sorry:

A383Wing

it does not really matter on the non-AC cars as to which hose goes where....

but it does make a difference on the AC cars....the hose coming out of the engine must go to the shut off valve first, then into the heater core.
