My 73 sometimes will not turnover when turn the key have to jump solenoid to get to turn over. Not sure what the issue is. Sometimes just fine and sometimes not.

So you turn the key and it does nothing, just silence? It may be the neutral safety switch. Next time it happens, shift the transmission all the way down into low 1, then back into park and see if it starts, and/or try starting it in neutral. If it starts after messing with the shifter, it is most likely the neutral safety switch causing the problem.

I did try the shirt to low and back to park. I need to find the switch and just remove it.

I'm gonna check the switch on tranny and if looks good I'm gonna move to starter relay next because I can jump it with a screwdriver.

Fixes it. Thanks guys. Neutral safety switch was dirty. Cleaned and fired right up.
