Z bar question

Another thing I ran into with this 904 to 727 swap was that the Z bar does not fit right  ( If I am calling the right part, the Z bar!) . I just wonder if the 727 Z bar is slightly different than the 904. The tranny shifts with the 904 assembly mounted on the 727, but it makes it quite tight, and also....the shifting pattern on the column is way different. It seems that I have all the gears, but they do not match up on the column. Can anyone tell me if the 904 and 727 Z bar ( linkage assembly) is different ? Thanks!
