Front input seal or overflow

Looking for advice. I put a newly rebuilt 727 in my 68. We filled the torque converter before installing it. The car sat for over a year before I had a chance to wire it and start it. I added tranny fluid (3 qts) while the car was running (in park). I noticed the dipstick had "check fluid in neutral" stamped on it. I put the car in neutral and checked it (while warm) and it there was nothing on the stick. I added another quart so is was at the "add one pint" line on the dipstick. I looked under the car and at least one pint leaked onto the floor!   :eek2: It was dripping a drop a second when the car is running. Because everything is new and clean, I could see that it is coming from behind the inspection cover. Is there a breather / overflow up there?  I'm hoping that I did not damage the input shaft seal putting the torque converter on.  I put the car in drive (on jack stands) and the wheels spin. It did not seem to drip after that - but I did not have time to run it much. I ended up leaving the car with a pile of oil dry underneath.  Any suggestions or similar experiences?  Thanks.

I forgot at mention that I have a B&M transmission cooler too (requiring extra fluid).  I have to work today - I hope to investigate further on Wednesday. Is there any other reason fluid would come out from behind the inspection cover? :shruggy:

The fluid isn't flowing in Park. You must cycle the shifter up and down to fill the entire system, it must be hot to gauge correct fill level and in Neutral. I've got no idea on the leak.

Neal is correct....move the shifter through the gears with the car running to fill the entire case and check the fluid level in Neutral with the engine/trans warmed up. Trans fluid expands when warm/hot.  :yesnod:

There is a vent on the front pump cover so if it's overfilled the fluid will leak from the inspection cover. You've probably overfilled it slightly so don't panic.  ;)
