66-70 B-body 426 Hemi throttle cable

Hello All,
Have a question. As some of you know, I'm installing a 426 Hemi into my '69 Charger Daytona. I recently purchased a throttle cable for the car being it is different for a 440 versus 426 Hemi. I got the motor in the car this weekend. I went to install the cable to the rear throttle cable mounting bracket on the rear of the intake and MAN !!! that sucker is being a pain in the [Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean]... I am having a hell of a time getting it to laid down where it is supposed to go, then get the retaining clamp/nut over it so it is secure. Is this the nature of the best or is there something wrong?
