Whatever, Rainman.  ::)

Your concession is noted, Corky.

QuoteYou twist words to suit your agenda.

No, I use standard American English.

QuoteSales figures and having a following are two separate ideals. 4-doors or not, if you can't see the amount of interest groups these cars have created then you are f**king blind. The Edsel was a sales flop, yet these days they are amongst a pretty dedicated set of enthusiasts. And where are the enthusiast groups for those passenger car Furys?

Something that has low or moderate sales and an enthusiastic group of followers is said to have a cult following, not a "HUGE" following. You are conflating the concept of quantity (i.e., "HUGE") with the concept of level of enthusiasm/dedication.

QuoteI rest my case.

Good idea.

Quote4-doors or not it's really come full-circle.

In reality, it being a 4-door sedan prevents it from having come full-circle, by definition. It is in a fundamentally different category of car than real Chargers.

In reality, 4-doors or not, it has.  ::)

No. When something is true by definition, it isn't debatable. Something can not come "full circle" unless it becomes the equivalent of what it started out as.

How predictable.  ::)   That was way too easy.

All that from someone who finds masking tape too complicated.  :scratchchin:

Your tacit concession on the entire matter is noted.

(*** Non Sequitur Alert ***)

Too tedious actually, and less than ideal results, and unavailable locally; none of which have anything to do with "complicated". You would know that already if not for your unfortunate reading disability. In other words, I typed this:

3M FineLine tape has always worked for me. Comes in various widths, conforms nicely around curves.

Yes, that's what I wanted when I bought some masking tape in the first place, but of course, my local hardware store didn't have any such thing. But even if I'd had some, it still would have been an incredibly tedious, careful, precise job masking 4 wheels with tape, and the best I could have hoped for was to equal the results that I got easily with the paint thinner, because those results were perfect.

You read that and came away with the impression that I claimed that masking tape is "too complicated". That means you have a reading disability, period.

A sick part of me wants Mopar to make a 6-door Charger next.  Just for the entertainment value around here.

I'm not sure I would use sales figures from a major global recession period when the automaker in question was nearly finished off as evidence of anything.  That period from 2007 to 2013 doesn't really say much.  Sales fell, no surprise, and they stayed at about the same level through that period.  Did any new car set sales records during that time?  I suspect they all fell.

Also it must be noted that at the time the second generation of Chargers were being produced the "Big Three" had yet to encounter any significant competition from over seas manufacturers. They basically had the American market to themselves. Interesting to note that when the production of the Corvair was canceled because it was a PR nightmare it had sold over 1.2 million units. For a company the size of GM that was considered a flop.
