Hey gang.
I know this may be an unorthodox question, but it is a question nonetheless.

I'm buttoning up the drivetrain for my hemi transplant. I recently installed a brand new starter and all the harnesses. I want to make sure, QC-step, to make sure the starter actually works. Soooooooo, I'd like to crank it for a split second just to make sure it engages and rotates the motor.

The positive cable is obvious, the + of the battery. Then there's the starter relay lead going down to the starter. I had places the cable on the positive post, then connected the remote starter switch with one end on the starter relay wire ( which goes to the starter relay ) and the other end to the negative post of the battery. Do I need to ground the motor to the negative post of the battery as well?

Thanks..
Troy

OK,
If it wasn't for the "you are never too old too learn" phrase, I'd feel like a complete moron...... Ok fellas....... Watch it !!

I got her to crank and only needed the remote started. Since the motor is put together as it will be when installed ( with the cables and harnesses installed ) all I needed to do was install the positive cable to the positive post and the negative cable to the negative post of the battery. Then connect one end of the remote starter switch to the positive post and the other to the solenoid wire that goes to the starter relay. I depress the remote switch and voila !!! crank crank.. Just enough to QC the wiring installed......   :thumb:

Thanks again to all. I needed a shake, rattle and roll.... :thumb:

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...
